Gen 1 - Neo Crest

As the youngest of his siblings, Neo spent his young childhood at home with his father, so when he started school, it all became rather overwhelming. especially since he was a child with an overactive imagination who quite quickly became overwhelmed. The other kids were merciless. Some laughed at him, some bullied him, most just ignored him. He had trouble making any friends and his hot temper and urge to take things from others only made things worse as he was often blamed for the trouble he could cause with his outbursts and stealing.

Back home, things started to deteriorate as well. His sisters seemed to fit in so well, even Sandy with her learning difficulties worked in school, and Neo felt his parents judgement weigh heavily even when they mostly just tried to help him. Especially things got difficult with his father, and as Neo grew older the arguments grew louder. 

The one adult he felt he talk to was their neighbor Summer Holiday, who had left her job as a waitress to become a criminal. Her lifestyle sounded so exciting and as a teen Neo began dreaming of putting his need for stealing into a career. Having nagged Summer about it, she finally put him in touch with Nancy Landgraab, who was more than willing to take on a trouble young teen and groom him into a thug of her own. She gave him the address of a gym in nearby Newcrest where he could get further training. 

But if Neo thought he would be able to quit school and join a gang as a teen, he had another thing coming. Broderick, the owner of the gym, told him in no uncertain terms that he was not interested in a kid who skipped school and had parents send the cops on them. He'd be allowed to train there, and he'd be shown the ropes when it came to fixed boxing matches and stealing, but he would not be involved in any crime until he was a young adult and could move away from home. Until then, Broderick expected him to do well in school and keep out of trouble. 

For Neo this was a turning point. With a purpose in life he could turn his school situation around. The intensive boxing meant that he could channel his aggression, and his ever more buffed up muscles meant the bullies no longer dared go after him, giving him some peace of mind and enough calm inside to work harder on his grades. His afternoons, evenings and weekends he spent at the gym. His parents were so happy he was turning his life around they failed to see the criminal elements of his life growing. 

At the gym Neo met Malik, and fell hard and fast in love with the most handsome man he had ever seen. To his surprise, the young adult Malik seemed to be just as interesting as him, guiding him, training him and choosing his company over the company of others. He never once made a move, however, to Neo's great annoyance (and Neo was too scared to make a move on his own). Neo was starting to get used to the idea of just being able to admire Malik from afar, when, on his birthday aging up to a young adult, Malik suddenly kissed him. Turns out all he was waiting for was for Neo to age up. 

Neo moved in with Malik within days of aging up, started his job as a criminal working for Nancy, and eventually Geoffrey, Landgraab. Together, he and Malik made an excellent team. They worked out at the gym, helped with cheating the taxes and arranging illegal (and often fixed) boxing matches and robbed houses around the area. Most of their earnings went straight into Landgraab's pocket and while Malik made it to branch selection, neither of them advanced too far in their careers. Still, they were happy together. 

When Geoffrey suddenly and unexpected fell down dead, Malik who had just become an elder suggested that it was time to leave the criminal career. Broderick was dead, most people in the business were new, and the new boss a young woman. Selling their house they took what money they had and moved to Tartosa, where they both retired from a life in crime, resolving to only steal for fun, and when they need something. Without someone else taking their earnings, making a life for themselves is far easier than ever before and the house on the hill is perfect for Neo's loner trait.
