Chapter 28: A Wedding Story to Remember (Christmas)
Waking up in a new world is always exciting, and Carolyn and Sunny cannot wait to start exploring. The house they've rented, since there is no such thing as a hotell where people actually wait on you and give you food, sits on a little island close to town. It's an easy, and beautiful, walk.

Right by town there is a beautiful beach. The water feels fantastic.

Resting in the sun loungers is also nice. Strange that no other sims seem to think this is a good idea. No one likes to swim either.

But they do like to visit the beach bar, as does Sunny and Carolyn.

But they also explore this beautiful world. Taking selfies together at different sights.

Wishing they could independently walk or run together along the beautiful pathways.

But glad they could swim close to the waterfalls, even if they wanted to get closer to it or interact with it. This seems like the more popular beach with the locals.

That evening they order take out. With no restaurants in town and the only food places closing at 6pm, there really is no other option if they don't want to cook. Which they don't as it's their honeymoon after all. The food is well prepared, however, and the view from the garden beautiful.

It's Sunny's birthday, and Carolyn has taken the time to bake him a cake (the town only sells wedding cakes, and that seemed a bit excessive).

Later, in the hot tub, Sunny asks the important question. Is it time to try to make a baby? Carolyn is more than happy to oblige.

But honeymoons doesn't last forever, and soon its time to return home. Carolyn and Sunny are more than happy to share their tales of the new world they explored with Christmas and Jamie, who are busy planning their own wedding.

Unlike Carolyn and Sunny (mostly Carolyn), they are not the type to host engagement parties or bachelor parties, they just want their wedding. They've been checking out the beautiful area of Gilbert Gardens for the ceremony, and has been pleasantly surprised. Not only is the area itself beautiful with its many greenhouses and lakes.

They discovered that you can actually go jogging, together(!), there.

And there is the cutest, quirkiest little house there. "Can we live here?" Christmas asks, immediately in love with the place.

They then visit the wedding venue itself, another beautiful greenhouse, set up for the purpose. "It seems a popular place to visit," Jamie points out.

But it's perfect. "Mom would love it here," Christmas says. "Look at how the ceiling creates patterns on the wall."

Now that Carolyn and Sunny are back home, they want to show them this new area of town. As its summer, and a heatwave, they decide to bring their bathing suits. Christmas loves that there is swimmable waters right here in town!

Carolyn loves the splash pad. It suits her childish personality. She can't wait to bring a child here.

Sunny prefers to relax in the sun loungers.

And tries his hand at fishing again. He remembers it being fun. It is, if it weren't for the fish. Gross.

As the heat wanes, they head over to the Celebration Centre to grill and have a few drinks.

And after that, they head for their own part of town and Anchorpoint Club where they dance all night. It's not that different from Sunny's bachelor party in a way, other than the fact that Christmas and Jamie gets to make out as much as they want to.

The following day they have Jamie's family over, well his dad and sister as his mom is working on a story for the paper. Sunny and Carolyn are of course there too, although Carolyn is feeling a bit funny, tired, nauseous...

It's not until she wakes in the middle of the night that she realises what that means. She wakes Sunny up to tell him the good news straight away. But they decide to keep it to themselves until after the wedding.

So for the day Carolyn chooses a dress that conveniently hides any bump she might have.

As the ceremony begins, Christmas is beaming with happiness as she and Jamie walk side by side down the isle. ("Hey, dad, mind getting off the phone!")

The wedding runs surprisingly smoothly. The guests sit down for the entire ceremony, Willow might cry from happiness as she sees Jamie and Christmas exchange their vows.

Even the spousal kiss goes with out any mishaps.

They gather around for a toast, then eat, cut the cake and gather around for the first dance.

By now Christmas is feeling pretty confident about herself.

She should, even the dancing goes well.

"Whoever heard of a wedding going smoothly?" she asks when they return home. But Jamie has other things in mind than talking. Not that Christmas minds. Now that the wedding is over, it's time to have some children. Growing up as an only child, with just her and her mother, she wants the full family experience. A husband (check), two kids (working on it), and that perfect house in Gilbert Gardens.

Of course houses are expensive, and Gilbert Gardens is not just any neighborhood. If they want this, they can forget all about a honeymoon. "We'll take vacations later," they agree, as they do what they can to gather enough money for the move.
It's quirky, has lots of odd angles, and is a bit smaller than they're used to as a result. Especially when all their furniture is filed into the one big living room.
"I can make this work," Christmas says. "It will be perfect!"

Most importantly, while the rooms might be a bit smaller, with more odd angles, it does have one room more than their old house. "It will make a perfect nursery when that day comes." She hopes that day comes soon.

At first they sit down with Sunny and Carolyn do discuss moving. It turns out that with the baby on the way, they've been thinking along the same lines.

And so it's the end of an era. Sunny and Carolyn can of course get to finding their new house at once. No need to wait for money, and Carolyn wants the baby's room ready before its born. She's been eying a property with view of the San Sequoia bridge for a while. Super modern, with a restaurant kitchen and a big patio overlooking the water. She and Sunny makes themselves at home at once. She especially likes that the house is more open than the one they leave, with a sitting room, kitchen and dining room all at the same floor.
"I think I'll like it here," Sunny says as he sits down at the dinner table.

Having just been given a huge promotion, he's feeling rather good about himself, and about becoming a father.

And the baby is due soon. Carolyn is growing bigger by the hour she thinks. Sunny cannot stop feeling the baby.

"We should have a baby shower," Carolyn says. "It will be a house warming party too." And since she is efficient, the guests arrive already the next evening.

Malcolm is thrilled at the prospect of another little Landgraab being born. "A boy, I'm sure of it," he tells his daughter.

The guests bring gifts.

Lots of them. But why is Carolyn in the kitchen? Didn't they hire a caterer?

Oh, she's busy socialising. "How do you get good help these days, dad?"
"Hey, I heard that! I'm an excellent chef."
"Perhaps we'd know that if you actually cooked."

The guests seem to enjoy Carolyns cooking, however. And the bartender is doing what she's supposed to be doing.
"You have to be firm with them. And fire them if they don't do their jobs. You really shouldn't have to cook," her mother says. "Only poor people cook."
"I don't mind cooking, mom."
"Well at least tell me you got a maid?"
"With a baby coming? Of course I have a maid. He's fairly useless though, yesterday he spent three hours going between the tub and the shower to clean them, but didn't touch the dirty toilet I threw up in. Just kept commenting on it smelling bad."
"Fire him!" her father says.
For Christmas, this entire conversation seems a bit strange. Just clean the toilet.

She and Jamie are still gathering their money, but then, luck strikes.

With a new, stable, career, that is less centered on making art and more on the curating of art made by others, Christmas and Jamie can finally afford their dream home.
